VRV\VRF systems
Literally translated, VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) stands for adjustable refrigerant consumption, and VRF (Variable Refrigerant Flow) - adjustable refrigerant flow. Both terms refer to the same type of climate system. The difference in name is due to the fact that VRV (Variable Refrigerant Volume) is a registered trademark of the company that in 1982 developed the first VRV system. Subsequently, other leading companies in the field of climate technology created similar systems, which they call VRF.
The very name of these systems shows their main distinguishing feature from other air conditioning systems - the ability to control the amount of refrigerant. With them, an electronic thermoregulating valve is built into each of your units, with the help of which the laying of the necessary amount of refrigerant is regulated, depending on the previous state of the parameters of the heat exchanger. Therefore, uniform temperature maintenance is achieved, which is difficult to achieve with air conditioners operating in on-off mode.
Many and varied are the factors influencing the selection of a suitable air conditioning system - for example, number, dimensions and purpose of the room, desired temperature, humidity, mobility and air cleanliness. Due to the specific requirements for the parameters of the air environment, universal air conditioning systems do not exist!
VRV (VRF) systems are a good technical solution for maintaining microclimate parameters in large buildings. In response to the question "What is more specifically their field of application?", several characteristic technical specifics should be used. First of all, their field of application is very wide - they can be used both for air conditioning several rooms and entire buildings. According to most manufacturers, they are mainly intended for maintaining the parameters of the macroclimate on areas from 150 to about 500 - 700 m2. This is far from exhausting the application area - it can also be used for areas exceeding 1000 m2, but then several VRV (VRF) systems are built.
Multi-zone air conditioning systems with direct evaporation of the refrigerant in the indoor units also have one very important advantage over other air conditioning technologies, and that is: the indoor units maintain a different mode of operation!
If necessary, completely opposite modes of operation should be maintained in two adjacent rooms. For example: in the second room, your body will maintain cooling mode, and in the second - heating mode. Also, in the previous seasons, with sudden changes in the outside temperature, a complete readjustment of the system is not required, as with chiller air conditioning installations.
Another very important advantage of VRV (VRF) systems is the possibilities they offer for the unnecessary (waste) heat energy from one part of the building to be used to heat the other part. For example, the heat that is thrown out from the south facade of the building to be used for heating the north. In a time of limited financial resources like the present, this means a real opportunity to save serious financial funds.
"Zephyr Air Conditioning systems" Ltd has a lot of experience in serving this type of systems. The specifications also include a combination of innovative additional hardware and software to connect to the outdoor unit. Through this connection, access to the service parameters of the system is obtained and all parameters can be analyzed and recorded over time, on the basis of which the problem can then be searched and fixed. Our company has the ability to supply original spare parts for a large range of brands. We can also take over the warranty of already purchased and installed air conditioning equipment from another company, because we have specific contracts for this with a number of manufacturers.
